Set the Controls on High

The season for plein air painting is now, I have been aggressive in my pursuit of painting outdoors. It has been very rewarding to see my own growth just in the last few weeks. I got a chance to attend a great workshop. Fred is a great teacher, check out his website at www.fredgraff.com . I think the key to growth, is painting every day, and using what we have learned in that daily practice.
I was accepted into a show last month. I had hoped for a place or prize, but maybe next year will be the one.
Winesburg Ohio will be having its annual Classic Art Show on August 15th. Hours are 10 to 4. There is a Facebook page for Winseburg Classic Art Show. Please check it out. If your ever in the neighborhood please look me up.

Stimulated Creativity

I have been fortunate lately to have sold a few paintings. These sales have greatly affected my creative energy.
As an artist I need the drive to paint and the drive comes from being appreciated as an artist and what I create.
Having said this I know that I need to surpass what I have done in the past. This can become a hurdle to create
more art. I see this as an opportunity to let things happen to my art, somewhat like Zen.
The ability is there I just need to let it manifest through my art.

Season of workshops

The weather breaks and I start looking forward to watercolor workshops, having a couple of my own and doing a couple of Fred Graff's. Fred is a terrific artist, and coupled with his teaching methods, it makes for a rewarding experience. He does many around the country, and he will be coming to Walnut Creek Ohio this fall to teach a workshop in Amish Country. If you are interested check out his website www.fredgraff.com .
The weather here in Holmes County in the fall always promises to

First Entry

Welcome! I hope you came looking for me, but if not I hope your experience here will warrant your return. I have been painting for many years, but have changed my medium to watercolor. Please contact me with any questions or comments about my style or anything in general.    Summer will soon be upon us and this time of year is my favorite for painting. You can experience nature and hopefully capture it on paper.  Stop back soon I will post regularly.Rob
